It has been, without a doubt, one of the most satisfying and fulfilling literature experiences I've had. Thanks to it, I was finally able to make it through the Silmarillion. Corey Olsen teaches at Washington College, and a bunch of his friends got together for a round table discussion/read through of the Silmarillion.

Like a teenage girl, I 'literally couldn't even' the Silmarillion until I discovered 'The Tolkien Professor'. I hope you find it helpful, too: Buckle in, biotch, cuz this illustrated version of the Ainulindale will give you a stiffy, and induce the will to actually make it through the dense opening chapters of the Silmarillion.
